Overview

In this guide I will show you how to convert a HP ESP135 server power supply so that it can be used injunction with  a 500W ISDT Smart charger to charge batteries.

Thing You will need:

  • HP ESP135 power supply
  • XT60 male connector
  • 12 AWG or larger wire
  • 3 three pin RC servo connectors
  • Soldering iron
  • Heat shrink
  • Glue

Turning it on

In order to turn on the power supply we will need to connect pin 6, 7, and 10. Connecting pin 4 as well will lower the fan speed so it is not as load but still allow for ample cooling.

Begin with removing the pins in the three connectors so that:

  • 1st connector has the model pin removed
  • 2nd connector has the outer 2 pins removed
  • 3rd connector has only one pin either outer pin location

After removing the pins it is time to glue the connectors together. Fallow the diagram provided to insure correct orientation. Now solder the 4 wires together and heat shrink.

Connecting the power leads

Solder the one 12 AWG+ wire to the 12v out and one to ground out. Now all thats left is solder on the XT60 connector. Make sure to maintain proper orientation. The flat side of the XT60 is positive and the rounded side is negative.
